Chetan, Chameli, and Priya, three siblings from a broken home, were placed in an orphanage after their parents’ relationship deteriorated. Their lives took a devastating turn when they were sent to an illegally run orphanage in Kathmandu, where they faced abuse and neglect.
These siblings, along with 17 other children, were rescued from the orphanage where they were mistreated and under fed. They were brought to safety by the FGN team in Nepal. After their rescue, FGN immediately set out to search for the children’s family. While staying in FGNs transit home, the children were reconnected with their paternal uncle, who was found to be in a better position than their father to care for them.
Over the next four months, FGN worked hard to ensure a safe and stable reintegration of the siblings into their family and community. The children’s uncle took full responsibility for their care and education, giving them a loving home and the opportunity to thrive once again. Since returning home, all three siblings are doing well in school and adjusting to their new life.
FGN, in partnership with local child protection authorities, continues to monitor the siblings to ensure their safety and prevent any risk of re-trafficking, giving these children the support and protection they need for a brighter future.
